What is Lewdness??
In today's vernacular “lewdness” would be acting or being “loose”, likewise acting or being “nasty”.

In the Bible, “lewdness” refers to behavior that is sexually immoral or indecent. It’s often associated with actions that are considered inappropriate, offensive, or overtly sexual in nature. The term is used to describe conduct that deviates from accepted moral standards, especially in a sexual context.
Here are some verses that mention “lewdness”:

  • Mark 7:20-23: Jesus speaks about what defiles a person, listing “lewdness” among other evils that come from within and defile a person.

  • Ezekiel 23: This chapter uses allegory to describe the lewd behavior of two sisters, representing Jerusalem and Samaria, who engaged in prostitution and immorality.

  • Galatians 5:19-21: Lists “lewdness” among the works of the flesh that are contrary to the Spirit.

These scriptures warn against such behavior and encourage believers to live in a way that honors God, avoiding actions that could lead to moral corruption. If you’re looking for guidance or further understanding, it might be helpful to study these passages within the larger context of the chapters they’re in and to do a word search on how and where The word “lewdness” is used, then find out what the original words meant.

This will shape the meaning for the conversation when the words are being used. And to whom it is being spoken.
There are two Hebrew words translated into “lewdness”, both come from words that speak about planning a crime, something bad, or something nasty.

In the New Testament (Acts 18:14)  the word there translated from the Greek it implies our understanding of being loose, easygoing or reckless...
